In Anaya's E.S. class while teaching a Chapter on 'My Country', her teacher asked some kids a very interesting question "How will you make your Country Proud?" Later, i asked Anaya to write some sentences on that. This is what she wrote...

WINGS BEHIND BARS

  In a bustling big city, there lived a small bird, Exquisite, rosy, but with eyes filled with the sorrows of the world. He feared this world unkind, Scared of us, the cruel mankind.   You see, the bird had witnessed that before, Many of its friends were captured, free no more, The little bird’s heart and soul belonged in the sky, And the thought of a cage made it cry.   It dreamt to touch the stars one day, But would it have the courage to fight? One day, the cruel men came, Trapping the bird, ignoring its pain.   The poor bird was now in a cage, Its eyes filled with tears and rage, Heartbroken, lost in this world unfair, A victim of humans who didn’t care.   This bird isn’t the only one,   there are many such in this world. यदि विद्यालय में कोई अवकाश न मिलता

एक दिन मुझे अजीब सा विचार आया , यदि विद्यालय में कोई अवकाश न होता तो क्या होता ? हर दिन मुँह धोकर हम स्कूल पहुंचते , एक दिन भी न होता जब हम देर से उठते। आँखों के निचे काले घेरे पड़ जाते , पढाई से थक कर हम किताबो पे ही सो जाते। दिवाली , होली , राखी में हम शाला में ही होते , क्या सब त्यौहार हम वही मनाते ? पढ़ाते - पढ़ाते हमारे शिक्षक परेशान हो जाते , छूटी की राह में सब मुस्कान खो जाते। गर्मी की छुट्टीयो का कोई इंतज़ार न करता , घूमने जाने का समय किसी के पास न होता। अच्छा हे यह सिर्फ सोच हे , हकीकत नहीं , अवकाश बहुत ज़रूरी हे , कोई विकल्प नहीं। - अनाया शेठ
