DANCING IN THE RAIN

 

Oh how I love dancing in the rain

Join the peacocks and go insane

Dance so much till my heart is full

Looking around everything is beautiful

I would jump high in muddy puddles

Strain my clothes and I would be in trouble

I would catch the raindrops on my palm

Listen to the singing breeze in calm

Pitter patter pitter patter the rain would drop

I wish this music would never stop

Make some paper boats and float it in rain

Watch them go and vanish in the lane

Clouds in the sky would be dark and black

It would be a perfect time to have a hot snack

Colourful umbrellas would cover the street

All the benches would be too wet to sit

With all the rain water, the plant would grow

Bathing in the rain, the trees would glow

I would wait for the Sun to come out of clouds

So I could see a rainbow looking very proud

Fragrance of the soil would cover the air

You would feel pure joy everywhere!

  I read somewhere that names have powers like magic spells and I agree. My unique and cool name is Anaya Sheth. I really love my name as it means ‘topmost leader’ in Sanskrit and ‘God’s gift’ in Hebrew. I always feel like a leader, thanks to my name. I think that, sometimes, a part of me is my name. My name enlightens who I am, my personality. Like my name, I want to be a leader one day. By leader, I don’t mean in any profession or of any land but leader as a great human being and someone who brings a change to this perfectly imperfect world and to ourselves. Despite my love for my name, there is one thing I don’t like about my name. Many call me ‘Aanya’ or ‘Ananya’. I would prefer them to take some effort in remembering or reading my name correctly. It’s a bit of a hassle correcting them every time. This makes me want to change my name sometimes but then I remind myself that my name is practically who I am.   BOOK REVIEW – THE WITCHES BY ROALD DAHL Roald Dahl is my favourite author. He is a British novelist who is a very famous children’s writer. He has written many bestselling books like Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory etc. I have read many of his books and liked them all but The Witches is an extraordinary book, one of the best I have ever read. It is a fantasy and horror book. This is the book which inspired me to write my own stories. The Witches is about a boy and his grandmother who want to get rid of Witches forever. Especially ‘THE GRAND HIGH WITCH’, The ruler of the witches! The witches want to use their weapon to kill all the children of England. They are hatching a terrifying plan. Who will succeed? My favourite part of the book is the beginning – A Note about Witches. It has the perfect description of them. They are not ordinary witches like you see in fairytales.
