DEAR TEACHERS

Thank you for making this year so much brighter

I am so fortunate that you are my teacher

Think about you and so many adjectives come to mind

Inspiring, caring, nurturing and oh so kind!

I am grateful to you for all your guidance

You explained everything with lots of patience

You taught me with so much love

All my mischiefs, you quickly forgave

You helped me thrive at every step

Your warmth took away all my stress

Thank you for your affection and praise

You led me through the year with your gentle ways

You made the school so much fun everyday

I will cherish our memories forever, let me tell you today

Just one poem is not enough to convey all I want to say

You have been a blessing to me in every kind of way!

WHAT'S IN A NAME?

  I read somewhere that names have powers like magic spells and I agree. My unique and cool name is Anaya Sheth. I really love my name as it means ‘topmost leader’ in Sanskrit and ‘God’s gift’ in Hebrew. I always feel like a leader, thanks to my name. I think that, sometimes, a part of me is my name. My name enlightens who I am, my personality. Like my name, I want to be a leader one day. By leader, I don’t mean in any profession or of any land but leader as a great human being and someone who brings a change to this perfectly imperfect world and to ourselves. Despite my love for my name, there is one thing I don’t like about my name. Many call me ‘Aanya’ or ‘Ananya’. I would prefer them to take some effort in remembering or reading my name correctly. It’s a bit of a hassle correcting them every time. This makes me want to change my name sometimes but then I remind myself that my name is practically who I am. It is the first thing people get to know about me before everything else. J

  BOOK REVIEW – THE WITCHES BY ROALD DAHL Roald Dahl is my favourite author. He is a British novelist who is a very famous children’s writer. He has written many bestselling books like Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory etc. I have read many of his books and liked them all but The Witches is an extraordinary book, one of the best I have ever read. It is a fantasy and horror book. This is the book which inspired me to write my own stories. The Witches is about a boy and his grandmother who want to get rid of Witches forever. Especially ‘THE GRAND HIGH WITCH’, The ruler of the witches! The witches want to use their weapon to kill all the children of England. They are hatching a terrifying plan. Who will succeed? My favourite part of the book is the beginning – A Note about Witches. It has the perfect description of them. They are not ordinary witches like you see in fairytales.
